‘Curse Of The Bat’ is the latest single from Terry Ohms, the alter ego of Vulture Whales\/The Ohms singer and guitarist, and current drummer with People Years, Wes McDonald. We’ve written about Terry’s music before<\/a>, which challenges the listener, while entertaining the heck out of them.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

‘Curse Of The Bat’ is no less entertaining, and is a politically charged track, focusing on the current Covid-19 pandemic. In a storytelling fashion Ohms refers to The President, the filling up of the cemeteries (due to deaths from the virius), and the fact that we don’t understand that much about it. It’s literally the curse of the bat, having allegedly originated in a wet market selling bats, in China’s Wuhan Province.<\/p>\n

Accompanied by a jangly guitar, Ohms channels Tom Petty in his gravely, salt and pepper singing style, with witty lines such as “I’d like to shake your hand…but I can’t”, in reference to the social distancing restrictions. It’s a song that makes you think, which is never a bad thing.<\/p>\n

‘Curse Of The Bat’ precedes Terry Ohms’ new album, ‘Smooth Sailing Forever’, the third full length under this moniker in as many years, which is set for release on August 14, through Cornelius Chapel Records.<\/p>\n
