Duffy returns with a moving new song, ‘River In The Sky’. The first music from the Welsh singer since 2015s, ‘Whole Lot Of Love’, it is a deeply personal and emotion-charged piano-led track. Captioned with, “For the better days to come”, the song will only be available across her social media channels.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Duffy recently shared her heart-breaking story of why she had suddenly disappeared from the public eye, and then took the brave step of sending new music to Jo Whiley, as an “only for radio” track, ‘Something Beautiful’, back in March. In finding her confidence returning to sing again, ‘River In The Sky’ is the next step. The gorgeous track serves to remind fans old and new what an awesome voice Duffy has, and is a bittersweet symbol of what the world has missed.<\/p>\n

Speaking on her blog<\/a>, Duffy wrote,<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cI never knew if I would get to the place of being able to do this, I am grateful to get here. Not everyone has the privilege of being able to talk, such as I am doing today,\u201d as she explained in detail the account of a rape and kidnap ordeal that would steal \u201cthousands of days from her life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Explaining further, Duffy said,<\/p>\n

\n

“Finally, the realisation that the very thing that hurt me, will become the very thing that heals me. I faced a deeply inhumane experience; only humanity can heal that.\u201d ‘River in the sky\u2019 discusses sorrow and the desire to be unburdened; she sings, \u201cAs I walk this life, doubt on my mind, I pray to fly, burden free.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is something simply for people to enjoy \u201cfor the better days to come\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
