Toda\u200by ‘electro-pop\u00a0maven’\u00a0(The Fader)\u00a0Kiesza\u00a0releases the music video for the effervescent title track from her forthcoming album ‘Crave’\u00a0which is set for release on\u00a0the\u00a014th\u00a0August 2020\u00a0via her\u00a0own label\u00a0Zebra Spirit Tribe.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Directed by Emmy award winning producer\u00a0James Barker (Queer Eye, Pawn Stars, HBO Max\u00a0Legendary)<\/strong>\u00a0alongside Ljuba Castot and Kiesza herself, the video was shot at YouTube HQ in New York just ahead of lockdown.<\/p>\n

The epitome of her comeback;\u00a0after Kiesza was forced to\u00a0take\u00a0a two year hiatus following a\u00a0life-changing car crash and head trauma\u00a0that rendered\u00a0her incapable of\u00a0performing live and potentially ever\u00a0walking again; the video features Kiesza\u2019s first major dance performance since her recovery.<\/p>\n

Having\u00a0essentially quarantined for many months after her traumatic accident,\u00a0having not only been\u00a0housebound, but\u00a0also\u00a0bedbound with no idea of whether she would recover, Kiesza\u00a0has\u00a0survived and emerged stronger. Her\u00a0ability\u00a0to dance was the ‘last frontier’\u00a0of her recovery,\u00a0and the video for ‘Crave’\u00a0captures\u00a0her new found strength, self expression and determination perfectly.\u00a0The extent of her remarkable recovery is clear as she brings her charisma and trademark dance moves back to the fore.<\/p>\n

Kiesza says:<\/p>\n

“Great art comes effortlessly, but always with a fight. And Crave was just that. The video for Crave is a dance story. It tells of my journey through the ups and downs and the strength it took to get to where I am today. \u00a0This is my first fully choreographed performance since the car crash and probably one of the most meaningful pieces \u00a0I\u2019ve ever performed. I gave it\u00a0everything I had and it was such a labor of love working together with James Barker, Ljuba Castot and Tobias Lever on this simple, yet powerful piece.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

<\/i>Produced by Electric, the upbeat\u00a0 funky Off The Wall-tinged single is title track from her\u00a0long-awaited\u00a0second album set for release on the 14th\u00a0August\u00a02020 and will include critically\u00a0acclaimed singles\u00a0\u00a0‘When\u00a0Boys Cry’<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0‘All Of The\u00a0Feelings’<\/strong>\u00a0,\u00a0which have\u00a0garnered\u00a0support from\u00a0The\u00a0FADER,\u00a0Billboard,\u00a0The\u00a0Times,\u00a0The Line of Best Fit,\u00a0\u00a0Interview\u00a0and\u00a0Paper, to name a few.\u00a0The upcoming album touches on her recent life-changing experiences while musically it draws on a range of 80s influences. Her adept skill as a songwriter \u2013 which has seen the likes of Duran Duran, Jennifer Lopez, Gorgon City, Rihanna and Kylie Minogue enlist her to write for them \u2013 is evident throughout the album and permits her to retake her rightful place on the electro-pop scene.<\/p>\n

Kiesza is firmly back in business as an independent musician fully emerging as an artist reborn, with new songs and a fresh perspective on the future.
