We’ve been following Que 9’s journey since 2017, so it’s crazy to think he’s still only 16 years old, and already has had a 12 year career. Recording his first single at the age of 4, teen rapper Quarrion Phillips, aka Que 9, proudly represents his hometown Detroit with his rapping and dancing, and in 2016 he started a viral dance trend, with #QueSplashChallenge. His latest single, ‘No Such Thing As A Real One’, comes from his newest album, ‘Testimony’, which sees him taking a more serious approach to his music.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The clip for ‘No Such Thing As A Real One’ was shot during quarantine, but nonetheless Que 9 has gone over and above to make sure it does what he set out to do. He makes sure all the rules are adhered to: social distancing is respected, and the video is shot outside. We see Que 9 rapping in front of the old Michigan Central Station, while the sky is washed over with a cloudy pink. As Que 9 stands alone in the clip he raps about how he finds it difficult to trust people, because of their disloyalty and fickleness; too often they move on without warning. Que 9 has discovered that this is one of the prices of fame. He’s accepted it, but nonetheless he’s still wary about sharing himself too deeply.<\/p>\n
