We’re all devastated at the cancellation of the Eurovision Song Contest this year due to the situation with COVID-19, so you can imagine when we hear about Eurovision-related events we’re wanting to get involved and be a part of it.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

A special one-off programme, ‘Eurovision: Come Together’ is set to be screened this Saturday night, 16 May, on BBC1, and starting at 6.30pm. Hosted by Graham Norton, the show will include The Fizz, comprising 3 of the original members – Cheryl Baker, Mike Nolan, and Jay Aston – of UKs 1981 winners Bucks Fizz, recreating their iconic skirt ripping routine from the song, ‘Making Your Mind Up’. They are asking fans to join in the fun, and at the same time, support The Care Workers Charity<\/a>.<\/p>\n

COVID-19 is one of the biggest crises our generation will see in its lifetime. Care workers are at the frontline of this, caring for the most vulnerable people in our society who are most susceptible to the disease. If a care worker needs to self-isolate, they will fall into desperate need. For this reason, we need more funds for extra emergency grants.<\/p>\n

There are almost 2 million care workers in the UK, contributing to one of the largest workforces. They spend their careers assisting others, but when circumstances change, sometimes it is the care workers who need help.<\/p>\n

All you have to do is record yourself doing the infamous Bucks Fizz Skirt Rip. Whether you’re by yourself, or with family or housemates, guy, girl – anyone – you can use our imagination and do it however you want. It doesn’t have to be a skirt, you could even rip off a tea towel! Here’s a specially prepared clip from the song you can use for your video:<\/p>\n
