And fans of Gotham\u2019s number one superhero are starting to get excited as the first details of the film begin to emerge. Here\u2019s a look at everything we know about The Batman so far.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

When will The Batman be released?<\/b><\/p>\n

The Batman movie was in mid-production in the UK, but concerns surrounding COVID-19 have now halted production. The film was due to be released on June 25, 2021. But this date could now be pushed back depending on when filming resumes.<\/p>\n

If you cannot wait for the new film to come out, you could always play Batman video games in the meantime to get into the mood. Who is playing Batman?<\/b><\/p>\n

Joining the likes of Adam West, Michael Keaton, Christian Bale, and Ben Affleck, the new actor inside the Batsuit is Twilight star, Robert Pattinson. The actor will convey a younger superhero that is more focused on detective work than violent vigilantism. Reportedly, Pattinson has signed up for a three-movie deal, so bat fanaticism will be here for a few years to come yet.<\/p>\n

Who\u00a0<\/span>else is in the movie?<\/b><\/p>\n

The supporting cast will include Andy Serkis as Bruce Wayne\u2019s butler Alfred Pennyworth and Jeffrey Wright as Gotham Police Department\u2019s Commissioner Gordon. Peter Sarsgaard has also joined the cast, but it\u2019s unknown what part he is playing. But rumours suggest he could play the corrupt district attorney Harvey Dent, who becomes the villain Two-Face. Also, Zo\u00eb Kravitz has been cast as Gotham\u2019s most famous burglar: Catwoman. It isn\u2019t Kravitz\u2019s first time in the role. She previously voiced Catwoman in the 2017 animated film The Lego Batman Movie.<\/p>\n

Which Batman baddies will be in the film?<\/b><\/p>\n

Alongside Catwoman, other well-known enemies are making a comeback in The Batman. Not seen since Tim Burton\u2019s 1992 Batman Returns movie, The Penguin is finally back to take on the Dark Knight. Colin Farrell is taking on the role, which looks set to be a far cry from Danny DeVito\u2019s performance<\/span><\/a>. Another famous Batman baddie making a return is The Riddler, played by Paul Dano. Apparently, Jonah Hill was approached to play the part first, but he turned it down.<\/p>\n

Early reports suggested that Joe Manganiello would reprise his role as the mercenary Deathstroke, who appeared in the post-credits-scene of Batman\u2019s last outing in the Justice League movie. However, whether Deathstroke will actually return is unknown.<\/p>\n

What is the plot of The Batman?<\/b><\/p>\n

The story of The Batman is still a closely-guarded secret. But director Matt Reeves has hinted at the approach he will be using. He told The Hollywood Reporter that the film is a noir, point-of-view-driven tale that sees Batman in more of a detective mode. Reeves said he hoped the film would be thrilling but also emotional.<\/p>\n

Is there\u00a0a new Batmobile?<\/b><\/p>\n

Every new movie featuring the Caped Crusader comes with a newly-designed Batmobile, so The Batman is no different. Early glimpses suggest the car is more grounded than the armoured tanks and futuristic cars of Batman\u2019s recent big-screen past. Indeed, the new Batmobile looks more like a souped-up version of the car in the old Adam West TV series. There is also a new Batcycle in town. Early footage suggests the motorbike will be significantly trimmed down from the muscle machine of the Dark Knight trilogy.<\/p>\n

Is there a trailer for the movie?<\/b><\/p>\n

Although there is no trailer for The Batman yet, a short clip has been released. The darkly mysterious teaser shows Pattinson in his new Batsuit, which appears to be more armoured than the previous ones worn by Affleck and Bale. It also features a new Batman symbol.
