Kellie-Anne has packed a lot into her 17 years. The pop and soul singer and songwriter recently moved to New York City, having first lived in Dubai, and then Quebec City. She has a lot of stories deep inside, and knows that she needs to tell them. Thankfully she’s also able to innately relate to others, to stand in their shoes, while at the same time speaking from her own heart.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Kellie-Anne’s singles are empowering, giving encouragement to the victims of bullying, and giving those who’ve put their dreams on the back shelf the will to pick them up and chase them. She’s played international music festivals, and clubs in Greenwich Village; she’s also done open mics in less than salubrious venues.<\/p>\n

At the same time her songwriting prowess has drawn comparisons to the likes of other story tellers such as Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, and Sia. Her epic piano ballad, ‘Legacy’, is perhaps her strongest release yet.<\/p>\n

Kellie-Anne’s vocals are moving and cathartic, yet the heart of ‘Legacy’ is in the lyrics. She tells the story of close family friend, John, who lives with ALS, also known as Lou Gherig’s Disease. It’s an incurable condition, slowly destroying the ability to perform even the most simple of tasks. ALS limits the options one is able to leave as a legacy as well, and it is because of this Kellie-Anne chooses to record John’s story in song. ‘Legacy’ tells about the mark he is leaving on the world.<\/p>\n

The music video for ‘Legacy’, directed by Kellie-Anne herself, and produced by Rob Fitzgerald, pulls out incredible performances from the cast of the clip, none of whom are actors, but rather Kellie-Anne’s friends and family. They show a family at home, who have to find their way around the roadblocks that ALS puts up at any given time, and they do so admirably. While Kellie-Anne’s vocals are incredible; striking, elegant, sonorous – it’s when John himself features in the coda, giving his opinion on the track, that you finally realise the song and video are much more than what they appear. I’m not crying, you’re crying!<\/p>\n
