‘All That I Am’ is Sunny Ozell’s second album, ‘Overnight Lows’, and the first that features her original songs.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The New York based pop and soul singer songwriter has lined up an awesome crew of musicians to accompany her as well – from drummer Jay Bellerose, who’s played for everyone from Sam Phillips, Bonnie Rait, and Robert Plant; Andy Hess, on bass, is a\u00a0former member of Gov’t Mule, and the Black Crowes; meanwhile, multi-instrumentalist Rich Hinman, who has performed on tracks by St. Vincent, Sara Bareilles, and many more, plays a sensitive and yet fearsome lead. All work well to showcase Sunny and her magnificently expressive voice, which oozes both passion and poise.<\/p>\n

Her latest single, ‘All That I Am’, examines relationships and the perils of putting your whole heart on the line, sharing with another person all of your life – and the accompanying anxieties. You may have heard her name before – Sunny is the wife of none other than actor and Knight Of The Realm, Sir Patrick Stewart; the fact makes the song all the more pertinent.<\/p>\n

She brings that drama to life in her music video for the song as well, which has been directed by Alissa Torvinen, who’s already shot clips for P!nk, Black Eyed Peas, and Lindsey Sterling, among others. Alissa knows how to take an artist’s vision and put it on screen – and in this case she has perfectly understood, and knew how to amplify, the intensity of feeling Sunny wanted to convey.<\/p>\n

Putting the spotlight on Ozell during the desert scenes in ‘All That I Am’,\u00a0 she strengthens the feelings of isolation and vulnerability, which are so present in the song. Representing the anxiety and stress is a gorgeous horse – powerful and almost overwhelming, but somehow Sunny also looks just as majestic. By the end of the video, we see that the wild beast has been tamed, and Ozell is able to ride off into the dawn – nothing but daylight in front of her.<\/p>\n
