By popular demand, Colston Hall has announced a second date for Nile Rodgers and CHIC, following the sell-out of the 16th July show in less than 24 hours.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The iconic band will play an additional date on Wednesday 15th July at The Amphitheatre as part of the Colston Hall Presents programme.<\/p>\n

Known for their high energy, classic hits and incredible live performances Nile Rodgers & CHIC are the ultimate soundtrack to a summer show on Bristol\u2019s Harbour. Tickets will go on general sale on today 3 March at noon.<\/p>\n

The one-off gigs come ahead of Belle and Sebastian on Friday 17th July. The three outdoor gigs form part of the Colston Hall Presents programme which sees Bristol\u2019s foremost concert venue programming concerts across the city in the vast majority of its independent and unique venues, while the Hall undergoes its multi-million-pound transformation.<\/p>\n

Now in its fifth year of programming at The Amphitheatre, Colston Hall has brought sell out performances by Goldie and the Heritage Orchestra in 2015, Outlook Orchestra in 2017, Jimmy Cliff and Grandmaster Flash in 2018 and 2019\u2019s consecutive concerts from New Order and The Specials.<\/p>\n

Colston Hall\u2019s artistic director Todd Wills commented:<\/p>\n

Coming onto the scene in the late 1970\u2019s, Nile Rodgers & CHIC re-shaped the music scene with smash hits like \u2018Dance, Dance, Dance\u2019, \u2018Good Times\u2019 and \u2018Le Freak\u2019, which spent five weeks on top of the charts in 1978 and went on to become the best-selling single in the history of Atlantic Records. Nile Rodgers & CHIC\u2019s revolutionary sound has influenced countless artists with Nile Rodgers going on to produce for David Bowie, Diana Ross and Madonna, amongst others.<\/p>\n

In more recent times, Rodgers\u2019 trendsetting collaborations with Daft Punk, Avicii, Sigala, Disclosure, and Sam Smith and the critical acclaim for \u201cIt\u2019s About Time\u201d, Nile Rodgers & CHIC\u2019s first album in over 26 years, show that the ensemble continue to be at the forefront of contemporary music, and at the height of their powers.<\/p>\n
