Rochester Castle, on the east bank of the River Medway in Rochester, Kent, features a beautiful 12th-century tower, which is one of the best preserved in England. Serving as a strategically important royal castle it helped protect England’s South-East coast from invasion during the late mediaeval period.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The English Heritage property is surrounded by stunning gardens, and will be once again open its doors to an entirely different kind of invasion this Summer, when hundreds of delighted music lovers come to Rochester for a series of four concerts to be held 8-11 July. Some of the biggest names from the UK and the USA will be performing in the castle grounds, thanks to concert and festival promoters AGMP, who established the London-based Innervisions Festival back in 2018, as well as promoted tours for a huge array of A list artists, including, but by no means limited to; Prince, James Brown, Eminem, Black Eyed Peas, Van Morrison, Faithless, and George Clinton.<\/p>\n

AGMP are pleased to present\u00a0Jools Holland, The Libertines, The Jacksons and UB40,\u00a0with supporting acts to be announced at this year’s events at Rochester Castle.<\/p>\n

Wednesday 8th July 2020 – Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra feat. Gilson Lavis with special guest Eddi Reader and guest vocalists Ruby Turner & Louise Marshall.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jools Holland OBE\u00a0was an original member of the band Squeeze, who had 12 UK Top 40 hits including; \u2018Cool For Cats\u2019, \u2018Up The Junction\u2019\u00a0& \u2018Labelled with Love\u2019. An English pianist, bandleader, singer, composer and television presenter, he hosts \u2018Later with Jools Holland\u2019 on BBC2\u00a0 which is one of the few remaining music shows on British Television. He also hosts his own show on Radio 2 and the annual \u2018Hootenanny\u2019\u00a0which is both live & televised every year on NYE.<\/p>\n

Thursday 9th<\/sup>\u00a0July 2020 \u2013 The Libertines<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the Millennia\u2019s greatest rock n roll bands, the full line up including Pete Docherty and Carl Barat will be performing songs new and old, including favourites such as;\u00a0\u00a0\u2018Don\u2019t Look Back into The Sun\u2019, \u2018Can\u2019t Stand Me Now’ and\u00a0\u2018The Likely Lads\u2019.<\/p>\n

Friday 10th July 2020 – The Jacksons<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tito Jackson, Marlon Jackson & Jackie Jackson were in one of the most famous bands in the world, with brothers Michael & Jermaine. Bringing the US Disco sound to the UK, The Jackson 5 grooved into the charts with hit after hit, still populating club dancefloors today. The Jacksons\u00a0 (Tito, Marlon & Jackie) will be performing everyone\u2019s favourite songs from 70\u2019s hits \u2018Show Me The Way To Go\u2019,\u00a0 \u2018Blame It On The Boogie\u2019 & \u2018Shake Your Body\u2019\u00a0to 80\u2019s chart toppers\u00a0\u2018Can You Feel It\u2019 & \u2018Walk Right Now\u2019.<\/p>\n

Saturday 11th July 2020 \u00a0– UB40<\/strong><\/p>\n

Formed in Birmingham in 1978, UB40 named themselves after the UK government\u2019s unemployment benefit form. Their debut album\u00a0\u2018Signing Off\u2019\u00a0was released in August 1980 and is considered by many to be one of\u00a0the greatest reggae albums ever released by a British band. It was the start of a career that led to 100 million record sales worldwide, forty UK Top 40 hits \u2013 including three Number 1s\u00a0(\u2018Red, Red Wine\u2019, \u2018I Got You Babe ft.
