Born in Haiti, and moving to New Jersey at the age of 3, rap music has always served 2Dee as an outlet while he was growing up, and served as a distraction from the rough parts of Newark. Eventually it led him to the establishment of a musical collaboration with friends, which eventually became Wyld Stylaz. Following several years of success, which saw them work with Mozzy, Zoey Dollaz, and French Montana, the group fell apart, and 2Dee set out on a solo project.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Self made, 2Dee has taught himself to mix, master and produce, as well as play guitar and piano, and only allows a few trusted people to help him, including his brother and producer, Xclusive.<\/p>\n

2Dee’s inspiration comes from the likes of other independent-minded artists, such as Yo Gotti, Jay Z, and Tech N9ne.<\/p>\n

His latest track, ‘Say Less’, shows the audience the front lines of current politics in the US, where law enforcement, and the urban\/immigrant communities continue to be divided, and indeed, are becoming much worse. The accompanying music video opens with a police officer demanding information from Xclusive, after having first pulled him over, without any explanation. A gunshot rings out, the police officer struggles to understand what’s going on. Every time he asks for help however, he comes face to face with a person of colour, battered and beaten down, with their mouths covered. It’s a not too disguised comment on police brutality, which takes minorities as its chief target, and represents what happens on a daily basis, not just in the US, but all around the world.<\/p>\n
