In the hands of Broke Royals, the dark side of love becomes a light, ebullient pop piece, a celebration of “us against the world”. It tells the tale of how much love goes against the odds of all things we know to be sensible; there’s so much that goes into true love, being in the right place at the right time, reading the signs correctly and not misinterpreting, and fighting with all your strength to make it happen, and make it work. The story is told to perfection in the clip for ‘Love & Tatters’, which, while not containing Saint Luxury, nonetheless feels the benefit of her influence.<\/p>\n
Focusing on a couple whose lives are soon to be upended, we see them seemingly directionless, yet somehow running towards one another. Finding one another in a field, there’s a somewhat disturbing, yet still quite stunning climax, reminding us that Saint Luxury is very much a part of our real world.
