As they gear up for a huge 2020, Sea Girls have kicked off the year being hotly tipped by media across the board. Sea Girls unleash their dynamic new anthem \u2018Ready For More\u2019, taken from their forthcoming new EP \u2018Under Exit Lights\u2019 – out March 6th on Polydor and available on limited edition 12\u2019\u2019 vinyl, CD and all Digital Service Providers.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The band, whose members come from Rutland, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, and Kent, have been together since 1995, are named for a misheard lyric in a Nick Cave song, and are signed with Polydor. Speaking with Wonderland Magazine<\/a>, charismatic lead singer Henry Camamile shed some light on the name:<\/p>\n

“Sea Girls are named after the lyric \u201ccity girls\u201d in the Nick Cave track \u201cWater\u2019s Edge\u201d off the Push The Sky Away album. Rory, our guitarist, loves the song and used to think Nick was singing Sea Girls and it stuck when we were thinking of a name for the band.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In March they release the brand new EP, \u2018Under Exit Lights\u2019, featuring more infectious jagged life songs and in April play their biggest UK tour yet. \u201cThe lyrics for these songs draw their soul from my life of late nights and the mornings after – about being young and going out a lot,\u201d Henry explains.\u00a0 \u201cIt involves dark thoughts, anxiety, but ends in hope, positivity and optimism.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the themes of the new single, Henry explains,<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Ready For More\u2019 is the bad apple of the EP. It looks and sounds sweet, but it’s basically staring into this abyss of nihilistic behaviour and being scared that I couldn’t change it. This song practically embraces the slippery slope I was on.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

2019 was quite a year for Sea Girls, one of the UK\u2019s most exciting new bands, which included touring the globe, triumphing at Reading and playing their biggest UK show to date when they sold out London\u2019s Forum to 2,300 fans.<\/p>\n

Sea Girls are a band aiming first and foremost at being the singalong torch bearers for a whole new generation. Much of their success is driven by their essential energetic live performances and uncanny ability to write songs like \u2018Violet\u2019 and \u2018Damage Done\u2019 that enjoy heavy Radio 1 support.<\/p>\n

Sea Girls are spreading their wings around the globe and continue to lyrically look their generation in the eye, singing to their era and embracing their silent crisis of confidence.<\/p>\n
