Today Canadian singer-songwriter\u00a0Kiesza\u00a0kicks off 2020 with the release of her new single \u2018When Boys Cry\u2019\u00a0through her own label, Zebra Spirit Tribe.<\/p>\n

Retaking her rightful place on the electro-pop scene at the end of\u00a02019 with the release of her first official UK single in years,\u00a0the critically acclaimed\u00a0\u2018You\u2019re The Best\u2019,\u00a0Kiesza\u00a0is firmly back in business.\u00a02020 is set to be the year that\u00a0the\u00a0“larger-than-life”\u00a0(PAPER) singer-songwriter\u00a0fully emerges as an artist reborn, with new songs and a fresh perspective on the future.<\/p>\n

Produced by Chris Malinchak, \u2018When Boys Cry\u2019,\u00a0is\u00a0the new\u00a0single taken from Kiezsa\u2019s forthcoming album set for release later this year.\u00a0 In a definite nod to the 1980\u2019s, the tender track is released alongside a stunning video (directed by Nytrix DOP: Chris Copro), which sees Kiezsa bring her charisma and dance moves to the streets of Melrose, Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

Bravely\u00a0penning the track\u00a0about\u00a0the\u00a0vulnerability\u00a0of men in her life,\u00a0Kiezsa says,<\/p>\n

\u201cThroughout history, men have had less permission to be vulnerable with their feelings than woman, despite the fact that male and female energy both lives and seeks balance in all of us. As a champion of female empowerment myself, I equally champion the empowerment of men to tap into their feminine power and allow themselves to be vulnerable emotionally. ‘When Boys Cry’ shines a light on this subject. I wrote the melody and lyrics of the song with the intension of supporting men, so they feel confident sharing this side of themselves with the world, and encourage people as a whole to celebrate it when they do.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
