With Christmas just around the corner, British singer-songwriter Richard Walters, now signed to Cooking Vinyl today shares a sublime, pared-back rendition of \u2018Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)\u2019.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The track follows the recent release of single \u2018This Is Where It Ends\u2019, and the announcement of a headline show at London\u2019s Waiting Room on February 6th. You can stream Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)\u2019 here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Richard\u2019s take on the bona fide Christmas classic, which was first recorded by the great Darlene Love, with the help of Phil Spector, sees him strip the song down to its bare bones. As he does best, the song trades in sparse, intimate acoustic guitars and Richard\u2019s stunning, echo-soaked falsetto.<\/p>\n

Speaking of the track Richard said,<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me, this is the perfect Christmas song and one I’ve always wanted to cover. It’s so big and emotional, it feels totally joyful until you realise it’s about having your heart trampled all over right before Christmas; heartache and Christmas are perfect together. I stripped it down the voice and guitar, got my tape 4-track out, and pretended to be Phil Spector for the day.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

A versatile and deeply-talented songwriter, Richard has quietly been garnering critical acclaim as a solo artist across a ten-year career which has seen him release four albums, the latest being 2016\u2019s \u2018A.M.\u2019, as well as four EPs to-date. As a solo artist his music has featured on such US TV shows as Grey\u2019s Anatomy, Bones, CSI: Miami, Criminal Minds, Tin Star and Revenge.<\/p>\n

Richard has also collaborated as a songwriter with a number of artists including rising star Declan J. Donovan, multiple Grammy winner Joe Henry and poet laureate Simon Artiage.<\/p>\n
