Mariah Carey is a singer, songwriter and producer – as well as an actress and entrepreneur, so she’s not just a triple threat, she’s a quintupple threat. Her five octave vocal range needs no introduction, nor does the song for which she is most famous – but which is only a tiny part of her 3 decade spanning career, and now sees her become the best-selling female artist of all time with 19 Hot 100 #1 hits. She’s now second only behind The Beatles, having previously been tied with Elvis Presley. Not bad at all!<\/p>\n

‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ is approaching a billion worldwide streams, and has held the top spot on Amazon Music’s charts since Thanksgiving Day this year, making it “the most-streamed holiday song of 2019, in all 50 states”. Mariah was awarded a Guinness World Record for “the highest-charting holiday (Christmas\/New Year) song on the Billboard Hot 100 by a solo artist”, and Variety reported that it has spent 36 cumulative weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Holiday chart since 2011 – “the highest any holiday song in history has charted.”<\/p>\n

First released on November 1, 1994, Mariah Carey’s ‘Merry Christmas’ has gone on to receive a 6x platinum certification from the RIAA, sell 15 million copies internationally, and earn the title of “The Best-Selling Christmas Of All Time”. The single ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ as alone scored a 6x platinum certification, and is Mariah’s 28th Top 10 single on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. Last year it became the second holiday song in 60 years to peak in the Top 5 on Billboard – of course this year surpassing even that.<\/p>\n
