Defining himself as “a street dude who writes pop songs”, August 08 is probably someone you know without even realising. The artist is a founding member of, and is signed to 88 Rising, and Red Bull Records, and his songwriting has been met with great acclaim and can be found on tracks with the likes of Justin Bieber, and DJ Khaled. His latest single, ‘Good Girls’, features Duckwrth, and is dedicated to those women who love bad boys and stick with them at all costs.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

August 08 aims to develop a close relationship with his listeners, through the truth he shares in his music. His raw honesty exposes the fact that he’s not always happy in his life, but on the other hand he feels his life is a work in progress, and that his music is a place where not only he can improve himself, but also his listeners can grow alongside him.<\/p>\n

August 08 started working in music in his late teens, and the self-motivator taught himself piano, drums, and took jazz classes in his spare time. His self-motivation has also seen him take a leading hand in music production as well as the rest – he’s a triple threat – writer, producer, and artist – and has been described by Pigeons & Planes as \u201cOne of the most exciting new voices of R&B\u201d.<\/p>\n

The music video for ‘Good Girls’ takes place in an elementary school with a difference – it’s all adults. Taking place in an abandoned building, there’s gym classes, music lessons, and recess, with nostalgic harking back by way of kickball, skipping ropes, and teasing. The bell rings, symbolising that not just school is out – but also that it’s time to move on. It’s sentimental and fun, taking us back to a time when we had none of the worries of adult life.<\/p>\n
