After an extremely long wait, Galaxy Defenders from across the country gather at the iconic London o2 arena to see McFly back in action!<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The band announced their reunion back in September where they revealed they will be performing a one-off show. Not only that, they also announced that they will be releasing one track a week in the lead up to the concert. This collection of songs was created by the band 9 years ago and were yet to showcase them to the world\u2026until now. Fans were finally able to hear \u201cThe Lost Songs\u201d and McFly definitely did not disappoint. 2 months and 13 incredibly written songs later, the time finally came for Tom, Danny, Dougie and Harry to take the stage.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s start by acknowledging the fact that the tickets for this one-show completely sold out within minutes of going on sale. It turns out that A LOT of people missed McFly being on the music scene and couldn\u2019t wait to see them perform. The band were so surprised by the reaction, they were forced to announce an arena tour that will be happening next May\/April due to popular demand. For those who weren\u2019t lucky enough to get tickets, there are still some available for next year which you can find here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Anyway, 20th\u00a0<\/sup>November came and the atmosphere at the arena was overwhelming! You could physically feel the excitement bouncing of the walls. This is the first live performance the band have done since their anthology tour back in 2016, so it\u2019s fair to say that fans had high expectations\u2026no pressure boys! After an impressive performance from support act, Chapter 13, who appeared on Britain\u2019s Got Talent earlier this year \u2013 the lights went down, and the moment we\u2019ve all been waiting for finally arrived.<\/p>\n

The first thing everyone saw was a giant M coming down from the sky. Once the M had landed, McFly rose up from the stage and the crowd went crazy! The set list started strong with the lost song ‘Red’ where Tom showed off his insane guitar skills whilst Danny belted every note perfectly. After that, they performed hit after hit including the classic oldies \u2013 All About You, Obviously and 5 Colours in Her Hair. It would have been rude after all this time to not sing the songs fans have waited so patiently for so they added Touch the Rain and We Were Only Kids in to the mix. After only a few weeks of knowing the songs, fans were able to sing along word for word!<\/p>\n

The set list had some very surprising additions including ‘Ultraviolet’, ‘Falling In Love’ and ‘The Last Song’ \u2013 all fan favourites yet the band always seem to miss these off of previous set lists. Tom and Danny performed stunning acoustic medley for everybody which included some of the bands b-side tracks \u2013 ‘The Guy Who Turned Her Down’, ‘No Worries’, and ‘Not Alone’. Toms famous pink ukulele came out to play for ‘Love Is Easy’ and the crowd lit up the room for the duration of Queen cover ‘Don\u2019t Stop Me Now’\u2026a view the band will never forget.<\/p>\n

The show came to an end all too soon when McFly sang their heart-warming song, ‘The Heart Never Lies’. It was hard to spot a dry eye in the audience as the concert drew to a close. It was a magical moment to experience the connection this band have with their fans after all these years. Another year over, and we\u2019re still together, it\u2019s not always easy\u2026but McFly are definitely here forever.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
