{"id":50976,"date":"2019-07-01T11:02:29","date_gmt":"2019-07-01T10:02:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/essentiallypop.com\/epop\/?p=50976"},"modified":"2019-07-16T13:02:40","modified_gmt":"2019-07-16T12:02:40","slug":"dan-says-week-twenty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/essentiallypop.com\/epop\/2019\/07\/dan-says-week-twenty\/","title":{"rendered":"Dan Says &#8211; Week Twenty"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Just as I sit here on the train back from Peterborough \u2013 I have no voice, I have strands of a rainbow flag printed on my face and I feel tired beyond words; but I have no regrets (even though Monday is looming).<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- Random Ad stuff --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2076862002005673\" data-ad-slot=\"3107208401\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins><\/p>\n<p><script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It\u2019s Peterborough Pride\u2026an annual occasion (my second in attendance) and also my friend Teddi\u2019s birthday\u2026so we all knew it was going to be a camp event but I\u2019m getting ahead of myself\u2026Friday night was Alphabeat\u2026that was fun. Their track \u2018Fascination\u2019 was the theme song of the club scene in 2007 (yes I was not 18 at the time!) and to be in the presence of the band who created the track was strange but comforting\u2026they&#8217;re very in tune with themselves musically and seem very musically aware\u2026they&#8217;re not just some pop puppets\u2026Their live set was energetic and fun and had an array of fan favourites and hits\u2026It was the perfect pre-party to Pride.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It\u2019s my first Pride of the year (and tbh it\u2019s probably going to be longest Pride as the rest are the one-off days). We marched, we danced, we drank, we drank, we drank and there was a lot of love. The weather was gorgeous, my shorts were short and there were Pride flags printed everywhere. I have to be honest that I\u2019m also absolutely obsessed with the way Juice WRLD sings his verse \u201cdamage my brain\u201d especially has me hooked. The song itself is weirdly wonderful; although it starts off with a strained vocal where I believe Madonna is meant to sound angry or informative, but it just sounds painful\u2026however the track turns into an uptempo disco number with a dubbing of a choir behind her and is simply put\u2026a wonderful and thought provoking track \u201cpeople think that I\u2019m insane \/ the only gun is in my brain \/ each new birth, it gives me hope \/ that\u2019s why I don\u2019t smoke that dope\u201d. I can guarantee this one\u2019s uplifting message will convey to the Jed fans (read more <a href=\"https:\/\/essentiallypop.com\/epop\/2019\/06\/choose-your-own-adventure-jedwards-voice-of-a-rebel-has-been-worth-waiting-for\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dan&#8217;s had a big week!
