London based French-born producer Jo Cocco’s new single, ‘Let It Go’ has a strong vibe that pulls you in as MCs Ham The Illustrator, MC Solomon, and Hughdem rap over the chorus of a guitar laden track which reminds us of the style of Eric Clapton.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

<\/ins><\/p>\n

The track is the first solo project for the multi-instrumentalist, who recently started his own production company, Joozzy Records, following internationally successful collaborations with the likes of Aloe Blacc, Gentleman, Max Romeo, Sly and Robbie, and Sara Lugo, among others. He relocated to the UK in 2017 in order to find new challenges for his music, and has produced ‘Turn The Tide’, the latest single for The Wise Bloods, which has seen airplay on BBC Radio4.<\/p>\n

‘Let It Go’ sees Jo Cocco expand his repartoire beyond his customary reggae, and blues style, and is a hip hip track co-written with his MC collaborators, which mixes the rhymes with blues, and has a clear 70s\/80s guitar sound.<\/p>\n

Jo not only produced the track, but also wrote and composed it, resulting in a summer banger, with a positive uplifting vibe. Speaking of the track he said,<\/p>\n

\u201cLet It Go is about accepting things you cannot change, letting go of negativity and people that are not good for you, thoughts that hold you back and instead trying to focus on the positive things in life. Take care of yourself, do your thing and go for your dream. Do that and you\u2019ll see good things will happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Jo Cocco has certainly not let the grass grow under his feet since relocating to London, and wanting to support the local hip hop scene, he recruited three emerging London rap talents, including Ham The Illustrator, a Namibian born rapper, activist, and creative, who designed the cover art for ‘Let It Go’; MC Solomon, who has been a big name in the UK live scene for many years; and Hughdem, who is part of Brixton Hip Hop collective, AndWhat. The group put together ‘Let It Go’, with the final recording produced in 2018.<\/p>\n
