Winner of the Nashville Industry Music Award for her song, ‘I Don’t’, from her 2015 set, ‘Dressed Up For Goodbye’, Corinne Cook is not one to wallow, and her latest release, ‘One Box Of Tissues’, is every bit as gutsy and candid as her other releases.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

<\/ins><\/p>\n

The track is anthemic, and clearly shows a woman who has taken her hits, but is still standing, determined to bounce back, better than before. She sings with the grit and determination of a survivor, and the righteousness of a woman whose plans won’t be derailed by anyone, least of all a misbehaving man. Corinne is backed up by some of the finest musicians in Nashville, including guitarist Scott Neubert (Emmylou Harris, Larry Gatlin), drummer William Ellis (Montgomery Gentry, Martina McBride), and bassist Dow Tomlin (Wynonna Judd, Sugarland). Corinne Cook is the new face of country music: resilient, open, accepting, indomitable, and, yes, female.<\/p>\n

The video for ‘One Box Of Tissues’ is sassy to say the least, and opens with a shot of Corinne at home – lovelorn, addressing the camera with a heartbroken look on her face. This however lasts for all of 20 seconds as Baldridge highlights Cook’s great sense of humour, and we’re given a hilariously exaggerated version of recovering from a breakup – eating loads of junk food, commiserating with reluctant friends, and sipping wine…through a straw. Corinne strictly works by the clock however and after exactly seven days and one box of tissues, she’s done with the mourning, and is solidly back together; confident, and unbroken.<\/p>\n
