<\/ins><\/p>\n She studied drama in Athens and London, where she played the lead in a variety of theatre productions, then gradually working her way up as a singer in piano restaurants, to clubs, and live venues, singing jazz, Latin, and Greek music, pop, and disco. Her latest song, ‘Naked’, adds punk nuances and raw sounding rock guitars, and is pure 90s rock.<\/p>\n Kalliopi started writing her own songs while still singing covers in pbus and bars, and eventually began performing them around London. With a sound which has been described as “Blondie Meets Pink”, and while we can hear those influences, we can also see that she’s been inspired by other strong female artists, such as Alanis Morissette, and Dolores O’Riordan, from The Cranberries: she even looks a bit like another strong female artist, Avril Lavigne. Kalliopi is clearly not someone to be trifled with. ‘Naked’ features an impressive group of musicians playing on the track: Spyros Kontakis on guitars, Alkis Missirlis on drums, and Barry Zealy on bass and backing vocals \u2013 and was mixed by Alex Newport and mastered by Ted Jensen.<\/p>\n The video features close up shots of her face, interspersed with flashes of her dancing, spinning her long blonde hair, is an excellent match for the fast paced track.
