Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett released his new single, ‘This Ol’ World’ earlier this month, and has now announced he’ll be releasing his new solo album, ‘Hard Lessons’, on June 21. The album, produced by Grammy Award winner Dave Cobb, features ten brand new songs, including the single, ‘Welcome To Your First Heartache’. The album is available to pre-order now and will be released through East Beach Records & Tapes\/Thirty Tigers.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Recorded at Nashville’s RCA Studio A, ‘Hard Lessons’ sees Shiflett on electric guitar, with Cobb on acoustic, as well as an all-star lineup of studio musicians. These include Chris Powell (Brent Cobb, Jamey Johnson) on drums and percussion, Brian Allen (Jason Isbell, Jamey Johnson) on bass, Michael Webb (Ashley Monroe, Eli Young Band) on keyboards and Paul Franklin (Vince Gill, Dire Straits) on pedal steel and Kristen Rogers (Anderson East, Lori McKenna) on harmony vocals. As well, the album features a duet with Elizabeth Cook on, ‘The One You Go Home To’, and a special guest guitarist in Laur “Little Joe” Joamets, on ‘This Ol’ World’.<\/div>\n

Chris will be touring the UK and Ireland, including at Dublin’s The Grand Social, on 30 March, and Omeara, London, on April 1. Tickets are now on sale from his official website<\/a>.<\/div>\n

Speaking about the album, his fourth solo release, and his second in collaboration with Cobb (who produced his 2017 album, ‘West Coast Town’), Shiflett said,<\/div>\n

\u201cI remember one night between Foo Fighters gigs last year I went out for dinner with Dave to chit chat about making this record.\u00a0He said he had a vision of me playing through an old Marshall JCM-800. So, when it came time to record, we found one on Craigslist, cranked it up and it was perfect.\u201d Chris continues:\u00a0\u201cI think this record hits a little closer to mixing everywhere I\u2019ve been musically into one big blender and comes out something a little different. Since it was my second time working with Cobb and Co. out there at RCA Studio A, I kind of knew what to expect as far as his process, so I intentionally didn\u2019t overthink or over-demo the songs because I didn\u2019t want to get too stuck on any ideas I brought with me.\u00a0I couldn\u2019t be more excited about the results.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
