The video for New York City based singer songwriter Patrick Breen’s song, ‘The Waters’ has been directed by young director, Solo Koo. It’s essentially a short film, which has been impeccably rendered, and carefully choreographed, to tell a moving story.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

<\/ins><\/p>\n

Koo assembled a cast of talented actors, including Claudine Swenson, who is perfect in the role of a woman running from a problematic relationship, and Vincent Loretta, known for his role in the ‘Break’ web series<\/a>, as her boyfriend. Model Connor Furst plays a street hustler, who is motivated by a private sense of altruism, while Margarita Vidal is a single mum, who’s struggling to make ends meet after being paralysed in an accident. Patrick Breen himself performs brilliantly as the concerned observer, and the ghost in a machine of hs own invention. Set in contemporary New York, the city is a star itself, with gorgeous shots of the East River bridges, and the sunlight glinting on the sides of skyscrapers, shadowy alleys, and so on. It seems like a lot of separate stories to tell, but Koo manages it well, weaving them all together into a gripping tale that compels the viewer to watch over and over.<\/p>\n

‘The Waters’ itself is a pop track, but at the same time, sophisticated and moody, altogether suitable for the New York video. Breen’s warm inviting tones are enhanced by artfully muffled drum machine beats, distant sounding synths, and near whispered backing vocals. It’s a sweet seduction and a beautiful introduction to an artist we will no doubt be hearing more of in the not too distant future.<\/p>\n
