Cici-Rose has also done her time as a session musician and writer for other artists over the years, but the time has now come for her to make a name for herself with her own material and sound: she’s ready to take her place on the world’s stage.

Cici-Rose’s single, ‘Don’t Take It Personal’, is a radio-ready track with a sound that could equally find its way onto the dance floor. It’s very chilled and relaxing, which is where it draws comparisons to Lana Del Rey. Having said that, there’s a fair bit of positive feminism to the track, reminding us of Dua Lipa and her girlpower style. It’s a cover of the Lyrica Anderson song, released in 2017, but it’s been dropped down and given a more electronic styling than the original, giving it an even more seductive and transfixing element. We’re left on the edge of our seat by Cici-Rose’s voice; evocative and yet somehow elusive, we can see why she’s been in such demand as a session singer. ‘Don’t Take It Personal’ is a great first foray into solo work, and we hope it’s not the last we hear from this up and coming and extremely talented artist.

You can find out more about Cici-Rose online, on her official website, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
