Describing themselves as what Taylor Swift would sound like if she was a rock band, San Francisco-based trio Worth Taking blend raw punk sounds with infectious, sweet vocals. Their most recent single, ‘Am I The Only One’, while not overtly political, addresses the feeling of being the only person to notice what’s happening in the world. It’s the latest in a long line of their songs, which have examined relatable themes such as love, hope, and our ongoing struggle with morality.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Devised in 2011 by Atlanta native Jerod McBrayer, Worth Taking started out as a creative outlet to his punk bands, and he recorded the debut ‘Worth Taking’ EP that year, promoting it at the Cornerstone Festival, before travelling further west. Landing in San Francisco, he joined forces with Chris Self, who played in the Adeline Records signed band, Fetish. The pair continued to write and release music, and released their second album, ‘Hangman’, in 2016.<\/p>\n

Now three members with the addition of drummer Chase Kossack, ‘Am I The Only One’ is a standalone single. Speaking of the track, McBrayer says,<\/p>\n

\u201cThe big take-home is feeling like you are the only one who\u2019s seeing what\u2019s happening around you.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The song comes with a clip created by an outside producer, who used footage from another project completed abroad. The song is fast paced and stirring, and has a certain 80s vibe about it, with its hard-hitting message and strong drums and guitars.<\/p>\n
