The masks, the kitchen knife, the home invasion and of course the final girl &#8211; which in our case got to be Milla, the iconic queen of horror herself. We met Milla at Cannes Film Festival earlier this year when she waltzed in and absolutely tore up the dance floor at a tiny show we were playing, admitting to us afterwards she was a fan. After bonding over a shared love of horror movies, we showed her an idea we already had for a slasher music video and she put us in contact with a talented director friend of hers, Ben. We developed an idea of Milla being this darkly obsessive Parcels fan in a strained marriage and where this could go in a slasher movie. Before we knew it we were in a rented villa in Beverly Hills with bright blue glitter caked thick on our faces working with a real Hollywood film crew until the sun rose. It was truly mind blowing and so much fun, just like any good horror film should be.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Benjamin Howdeshell, the director of the video says &#8211;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWhen Milla called me to describe what she and Parcels had in mind for a horror-inspired music video short film hybrid, I was immediately all in.\u00a0 We envisioned and experimented until we felt like we\u2019d hit all the right notes for integrating this incredible song into a visually beautiful, yet horrific story.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">French illustrator Laurent Melki &#8211; best known for his early horror film images that have now become iconic such as &#8216;Claws Of The Night&#8217; and &#8216;Night Of The Living Dead&#8217; &#8211; has additionally created an illustrative poster, which perfectly encapsulates the cinematic theme of the video.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- Random Ad stuff --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\n     style=\"display:block\"\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2076862002005673\"\n     data-ad-slot=\"3107208401\"\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins><\/p>\n<p><script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ambitious, infectious, and marking the arrival of a genre-crossing new band,\u00a0Parcels\u2019 debut\u00a0album\u00a0is the brainchild of five young guys barely in their twenties, who nonetheless have appeared as if beamed from another planet. Louie Swain (synth), Patrick Hetherington (synth), Noah Hill (bass), Anatole Serret (drums) and Jules Crommelin (guitar) are schoolmates from Byron Bay. 3 years ago, they\u00a0made the big leap of moving to Berlin, finding in one Europe\u2019s most creative cities the prospects that equaled their ambition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Parcels\u2019 early sound suitably reflects this ability to travel, and transform yourself: following an eclectic thread from The Beach Boys and Chic through to yacht rock heroes like Steely Dan, all the while blending elements of electronica, funk and tirelessly-drilled live musicianship into classic but contemporary pop. It\u2019s in their Berlin exile \u2013 and its long history of creative breakthroughs \u2013 that the alchemy which makes\u00a0Parcels\u00a0so refreshing first crystallized.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Theirs is a maniacal taste for perfection when it comes to production, composition and arrangement, with a live show so accomplished that Daft Punk offered to work with them on the spot (the first time the duo have chosen an emerging act to add to their list of collaborators, which also includes the likes of Kanye, The Weeknd and Pharrell).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It\u2019s typical of\u00a0Parcels, though, that these 12 musical doses of sunshine aren\u2019t coming out in high summer: think of them as aural sunbeds to get you through the winter. Still, the cold isn\u2019t so much of a worry for them these days. \u201cThese days,\u201d Swain says, \u201cwe\u2019re all in houses that have great insulation and heating.\u201d And when the weather\u2019s cold, they\u2019ll bring the sunshine with them.<\/p>\n<p>Parcels are currently on tour.
