Seattle based brother-sister duo, The Native Sibling, are comprised of Ryan and Kaylee Williams. Growing up playing music in different places, the pair started writing and singing together after years apart, after singing informally in a pub in Ireland. That night showed them that their individual musical desires were at a crossroads, and that what they really wanted – and needed – to do was play together.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Fast forward to 2014, and the siblings released ‘Letters Kept To Ourselves’, which was recorded in Brooklyn with producer Daniel Mendez, known for his work with Noah Gundersen, Heart, and Duran Duran. The album was met with critical acclaim and iTunes awarded it ‘Best Singer\/Songwriter Album’ that year. Touring the record extensively, they then took time off to write and reconnect with family and friends, before working with Mendez again, this time in Austin, Texas.<\/p>\n

They spent six weeks recording in the countryside, and are now finished and ready to release their second album, ‘Hammer Is Heart’. First single to be released is ‘How To Win’, inspired by the Pioneer Square neighbourhood in Seattle. The Native Sibling, in speaking of the album said,<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a reflection on the relational dynamics of the neighborhood and encourages us all to take a moment to acknowledge those around us,\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

…<\/strong>with many of the songs on ‘Hammer Is Heart’ inspired by the Seattle landscape, as well as themes of family relationships, and how they change from youth into adulthood.<\/p>\n
