Based in Los Angeles, five piece indie rock band Greg In Good Company was founded in 2015 by Greg Gilman.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The native of Philadelphia had unusually honed his singing and songwriting skills in standup comedy clubs, where he performed acoustic ballads with satirical and often filthy lyrics. Following the tragic death of his best friend from school, Greg took to his guitar to assuage his grief, and wrote a tribute to his friend. He was performing at an open mic night in Burbank, and in singing the song discovered that his voice and lyrics had an emotional impact on his audience. This was followed up when a producer – who just happened to be there – offered to record the track for free.<\/p>\n

Greg’s confidence was buoyed and he threw himself into more emotionally authentic material, rather than the comedy he had been performing. With this change in theme he found people wanting to join him on stage, and before he knew it, he had a full band. Comprising of Greg on vocals and rhythm guitar, Lee on vocals and keys, Marty Vites on lead guitar, Alex Brinkschulte on drums, and Alex U’Ren on bass, Greg In Good Company was named for Greg’s roots as a solo artist.<\/p>\n

The band released their eponymous EP in 2016, thereby catching the attention of LA radio station, The New 88.5FM, as well as several other local radio stations. The following year they were playing at bigger clubs, indie music festivals, colleges, and even beat out over 100 competitors to win first place at a massive battle of the bands in Huntington Beach. The prize money from that battle served as the basis to fund their 10 track debut album, ‘American Way’, produced at Mitchell Haeuszer\u2019s HAUS Music studio. It’s set for release this summer.<\/p>\n

The title track is an ironic reference to Superman’s motto of protecting “truth, justice, and the American Way’. The songs investigage Greg’s often complicated feelings about America, and mixing cultural and political criticism with earnest reflections on the goodness worth fighting for.<\/p>\n
