Kristin Hersh<\/strong> plays a sold out show at London’s\u00a0Meltdown<\/strong>\u00a0on Thursday (June 21) – the latest leg of a UK tour to promote her new solo album\u00a0Possible Dust Clouds<\/strong><\/em>.<\/h4>\n

The prolific singer-songwriter is previewing a rough mix of Breathe In <\/em>from the album\u00a0<\/strong>ahead of her appearance at the festival, which is being curated by\u00a0The Cure<\/strong>‘s\u00a0Rob<\/strong>ert Smith<\/strong>.<\/h4>\n

Supporting her on the tour will be her former\u00a0Throwing Muses\u00a0<\/strong>bandmate and longtime collaborator\u00a0Fred Abong<\/strong>, who has a solo record out in July.<\/p>\n

Bassist Abong, who also played with Hersh’s step-sister Tanya Donelly\u00a0<\/strong>in Belly<\/strong>, will be playing tracks from his new acoustic EP, variously described as like a “ragged\u00a0Replacements”\u00a0<\/strong>or “Elliott Smith<\/strong> with balls”.<\/p>\n

Abong features on\u00a0Breath In<\/em> along with Hersh’s son\u00a0Wyatt True<\/strong>\u00a0on drums.<\/p>\n

Possible Dust Clouds is\u00a0<\/em>Hersh’s\u00a0 first new material since the 2016 double album\u00a0Wyatt At The Coyote Palace<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, <\/strong>which in an EP interview<\/a>,<\/strong> she explained was partly inspired by her autistic son\u2019s fascination with the coyotes that hung around an abandoned building they often visited.<\/p>\n

Still active with Throwing Muses, Hersh also fronts power trio\u00a050FOOTWAVE<\/strong>, releasing the\u00a0Bath White\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/a>mini album in the summer of 2016.<\/p>\n

WAVE drummer\u00a0Rob Ahlers<\/strong> backs her on\u00a0LAX<\/strong>, the first single from\u00a0Possible Dust Clouds<\/em>, which will be released on Fire Records\u00a0<\/strong>in October.<\/p>\n
