It’s Bowie week here on EP as we celebrate and commemorate his birth and his death, both conveniently, but sadly, falling in the same week. It’s been two years today since lost him – our Blackstar, the StarMan – if we can sparkle he may land tonight…<\/strong><\/h4>\n

This Friday night we’ll be attending the ‘Celebrating\u00a0David Bowie’\u00a0show at Shepherds Bush Empire, a special concert featuring artists who peformed with the legend, as well as guest artists.<\/p>\n

Legendary Bowie keyboard player Mike Garson comments,<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will have surprise guest artists plus we are travelling with our in house vocalists like Fishbone\u2019s Angelo Moore and\u00a0Fiction Plane\u2019s\u00a0Joe Sumner\u00a0(Sting\u2019s son).\u00a0Adrian Belew\u00a0who worked with David is a great singer and master guitarist.\u00a0Paul Dempsey\u00a0from Australia who joined us at the Sydney Opera House shows this year is joining us again in Europe\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Adrian Belew, speaking about Bowie in 2017, adds,<\/p>\n

\u201cDavid was, for lack of a better term, magical to be around. He was deservedly a superstar, and people treated him as such so to be in his orbit was always fascinating. He always encouraged me to play what I felt.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Additionally, Angelo Moore, who toured with the show in 2017, said,<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was great to see the audience appreciate every performance from each artist’s perception of what it would be like to own the song and perform it as if it was their own.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The lineup for ‘Celebrating David Bowie’ see the show as more Bowie future than Bowie past, giving a new shine to popular songs from his extensive catalogue. Songs featured in the performance will include the well-known, such as ‘Fame’, ‘Heroes’, ‘Changes’, ‘Life On Mars’, ‘Rebel Rebel’, ‘Space Oddity’, ‘Ashes To Ashes’, ‘Golden Years’ and ‘China Girl’, as well as lesser-known but equally loved Bowie favourites, like ‘Lady Grinning Soul’, ‘Moonage Daydream’, ‘Aladdin Sane’, ‘Quicksand’, and ‘The Heart\u2019s Filthy Lesson’.<\/p>\n
