Jane N’ The Jungle are certainly making a name for themselves with their unique blend of 90s style alt and modern rock. The Phoenix Arizona trio, who formed back in 2013, have already graced the pages of Essentially Pop several times in 2017 alone, most notably with their singles, ‘Killed Someone<\/a>‘, and ‘Faded Stars<\/a>‘. Now they’ve released their final instalment for the year, ‘One Time’; a pared down ballad which gives the listener a deeply personal look at the band.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Opening with the camera following Jane down a Phoenix street, we get a feeling of how down to earth they are; just living in a normal neighbourhood, with manicured lawns, toys in the yard, and SUVs in the driveways. There’s even a jogger out for their exercise on the footpath, and cyclists passing by. All the while their sound calls up the feel and sensation of an Arizona morning; hot and dry and languid.<\/p>\n

Jane’s strident and emotive vocal is accompanied simply by an acoustic guitar as she sings her heart out:<\/p>\n

Compared to Alanis Morissette, The Cranberries, and Florence and The Machine, whose influences are definitely heard in their self-titled debut EP released last year, Jane N’ The Jungle are certainly well-deserving of their inclusion in Phoenix New Times’ “17 Metro Phoenix Bands To Watch In 2017”. They’ve performed on 3TV, AZTV 7, and Fox 10, and their songs ‘Smoke & Dust’, and ‘Open Road Blues’ currently featured in Honda television commercials.<\/p>\n
