Released today, ‘Salvation: The Arrival’ is the second album from Louisiana artist, Aries Marquis. The follow up to his album, ‘Imperfections’, it’s ten tracks of soulful vocals and passionate lyrics.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

With a cross-genre style which encompasses hip hop, pop, soul, and R&B, and Aries’ voice which comes somewhere between Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake, ‘Salvation: The Arrival’ is definitely not the “difficult second album”: instead it’s a work of art.<\/p>\n

Aries started singing in the choir of First Presbyterian Church of Scotlandville, Louisiana when he was a mere 5 years old, and his mother was the choir director. He continued singing in the choir in elementary school, and as a child of the 90s equally absorbed gospel legends such as Daryl Coley, Richard Smallwood, and The Hawkins Family; and R&B and Soul sensations like Freddie Jackson, and Boyz II Men – among many others. All these would provide very strong influences on his later professional life.<\/p>\n

Aries has many accolades to his name, including debuting at number 35 on CMJs hip hop charts, with his ‘Imperfections’ album. This additionally made an appearance on CMJs Top 5 Most Added list. Aries has also opened for R&B legend, Keith Sweat, at Lake Charles Civic Center in 2014.<\/p>\n

“This album, ‘Salvation: The Arrival’, is my second album, following my previous album, Imperfections. This album brings me to a place in my life where the light is finally shining at the end of the tunnel, and I’m full of joy to be in a better part of my life, in contrast to where I was with my last album, Imperfections. This album shows the world that I’ve grown, learned, and I am inspired! It’s full of optimism, and inspiration for the listeners, and all of my songs are based on my life’s experiences. Every song was written, arranged, produced, and inspired by me.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
