Set against expert piano playing as well as other accompanying strings, Davies’ voice is husky and sweet, yet tinged with some sadness. The track is about love and its loss, and is based on Nigel’s personal experience. The singer songwriter was born in Swansea, Wales, and knew very early on that he wanted to make his living from music. He grew up in a household which listened to Shirley Bassey, and his piano lessons were very definitely classical, but nonetheless, Davies soon discovered the artists he now considers his true influences – Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and more recently, Foy Vance.<\/p>\n
