Four piece post-punk new wave band, The Blue Wave Pavilion are started live performances back in June at the Brudenell Social Club, in their home-base of Leeds. Opening for All We Are, the band have gone on to do a headline show at Manchester’s Night & Day Caf\u00e9, as well as an opening slot for Himalayas at Leeds’ Lending Room, which also featured This Feeling.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Composed of James Jennion on vocals, rhythm guitar (James also writes the songs), with Matt Jennion on backing vocals and bass, as well as Alec Wilson on lead guitar, synth and backing, and David Moorfield on drums, The Blue Wave Pavilion are getting ready for the release of their debut Double A side, ‘Song Of Cedric’\/’Food For Yourself’. The single was recorded over the summer and will be digitally released on 29 November, with a launch show at The Lending Room, supported by Dharma Wild, and Unstable Journey.<\/div>\n

‘Song Of Cedric’ reminds us of the vocal stylings of New Order’s Bernard Sumner, while the strong guitar of Alec Wilson resonates long after the song is over. ‘Food For Yourself’ conversely is characterised by the forceful drums, which provide the perfect framework for James Jennion’s voice. There’s a somewhat dischordant quality to the instrumentation of both songs, which we find quite appealing.<\/div>\n
