Dutch artist Saycille released her single, ‘Wish’, earlier this year.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

After losing her job at the age of 52, Amsterdam-born Saycille worked as a volunteer at Tijd voor Meedoen (TvM) at the community centre, where she stared a weekly meeting for people in need of company. While there she joined the amateur TvM band, as one of the singers. She decided she’d like to sing a song written by herself, and was given the advice to write about any subject she wanted to, withot needing to make it rhyme. From there she learned that in addition to writing lyrics and melody, she also had to write the chords to be able to own her song. Undeterred, she watched YouTube videos, and learned how to find the right chords in a day. She started writing her own songs late last year, and released ‘Wish’ in August. Saycille is set to release her first EP shortly, with a full album, ‘Heartbeat’, in February.<\/p>\n

‘Wish’ is an upbeat and light-hearted song, which blends pop, folk, and rock elements, and should appeal to fans of Corinne Bailey Rae. In addition to Saycille, ‘Wish’ features Petra Lugtenburg on grand piano, Dave van Beek on drums, Xander Buvelot on bass, and Frank Stukker on guitar.<\/p>\n
