East Of My Youth, an Icelandic electro-pop duo – Herd\u00eds\u00a0Stef\u00e1nsd\u00f3ttir and Thelma Mar\u00edn J\u00f3nsd\u00f3ttir – have dropped a mesmerizing new single, ‘Broken Glass’, out via West Of My Future Ltd.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The track with its glitchy synth-infused beats and soaring clear vocals makes for a majestic, almost polarizing image; it is bright and playful yet has dark undertones.<\/p>\n

The music video for ‘Broken Glass’ is a perfect match for the song. Moving slowly – it is stylish, soothing and almost hypnotic – it simultaneously calmed me down and made me anxious.<\/p>\n

The song is the result of Herdis\u2019 of compositional and Thelma\u2019s artistic skills and therefore has a dynamic duality to it.<\/p>\n

Beginning right from their first 6-track EP earlier this year to this single, East of My Youth has had an impressive journey so far as they continue to charm listeners with their dark brand of electronic music.<\/p>\n

The duo is relatively new on the scene, having formed in May 2015 in\u00a0Reykjavik, Iceland. But they have already received praise from a number of\u00a0well-regarded publications including i-D, The Line of Best Fit, and Nordic by Nature, and also wowed crowds at festivals such as\u00a0SXSW,\u00a0Iceland Airwaves, and\u00a0Sonar Reykjavik.<\/p>\n
