Their father was a pioneer of the style, and helped to define the parameters of reggae, by introducing reggae at its best and purest to audiences in North America in the late 70s and 80s. His children have been creating their own legends since the group\u2019s foundation in 1994, and have 11 albums under their belts and the awards to match, such as the\u00a0Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album of the Year, for their 2015 offering, \u2018Strictly Roots\u2019. Their\u00a0latest single, \u2018Reggae Night\u2019, featuring Drezion, seamlessly blends reggae, hip hop, and electronics, and has an epic video to match.<\/p>\n
\u2019Reggae Night\u2019 is the lead single from their latest album, \u2018Avrakedabra\u2019, and would work well\u00a0on a Top 40 radio playlist or blasting out of the speakers of a beach bar. The track gives Morgan Heritage the opportunity to showcase their talents: sweet singing, irresistible melodies, and a strong relationship to rhythm.<\/p>\n
The video for \u2018Reggae Night\u2019 straddles two worlds, just as the Morgans maintain deep roots both in New York and Jamaica. Animated, the video shows avatars for the musicians, appearing in various locations: atop skyscrapers, or singing under the hot sun in the Caribbean. They\u2019re on the deck of a cruise ship, and from the crown of Lady Liberty. Featured performer DreZion\u00a0drops the second verse alongside a Lambroghini and on the boardwalk. The real action however is in the club, where it\u2019s all reggae, all the time…as it should be.<\/p>\n
