Temecula Road are starting to make a big splash in Country Music. The band is made up of sisters Emma & Maddie Salute and longtime friend Dawson Anderson and their beautiful harmonies, youthful energy and Country vibe even has Carrie Underwood hailing them as “one to watch”. They were at C2C 2017 in March of this year and have exciting times ahead of them.<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

This week is a big week for Temecula Road and for Country Music. On Friday night this new young Country band from California will be lining up next to Logan Brill, Levi Hummon and Walker McGuire at the C2C 2018 Launch Party at Bush Hall in London. Whispering Bob Harris will announce the headliners for the three day Country Music festival next year and it’s fitting that he should be joined by Temecula Road as it’s vibrant young bands like them that ensures the future of the genre and hopefully new and sustained popularity in the UK.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

And that’s not all, this exciting new trio also announced a new U.K. single called ‘Hoping’, alongside the global release of ‘Everything Without You’. This week I had the chance to ask the band some questions on the eve of the release.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

EP<\/span>: Hi guys and many thanks for the opportunity to ask you a few questions.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

I’m a lifelong fan of Country music and it’s great to see all the new young artists hitting the scene. How did you all get into Country and Dawson, how did you meet Emma and Maddie?<\/span><\/p>\n

Emma<\/span>: Maddie and I grew up listening to country music. Our parents always had CMT on and we\u2019d singalong to the music videos on TV.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dawson<\/span>: I was born in North Carolina and country music is big there, so it\u2019s what I grew up loving. I met the girls in Temecula when we were all going to the same vocal coach.<\/span><\/p>\n

EP<\/span>: Your music is full of harmonies; was this a plan or was this influenced by the rich heritage of California harmony like the Beach Boys or Wilson Phillips?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Maddie<\/span>: We always knew harmonies were going to be a big part of our sound. We definitely look up to other groups like Lady Antebellum and Little Big Town.<\/span><\/p>\n

EP<\/span>: I see the band was named after the town you grew up in. What is it like in Temecula for a young Country band?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Dawson<\/span>: We all love our hometown. It\u2019s really scenic and the weather is almost always perfect. There\u2019s lots of fun things to do. You should come visit!<\/span><\/p>\n

EP<\/span>: Disney have been big fans of the band after naming you the “next big thing”, an honour shared by Shawn Mendes before you, and also nominating you as Country New Artist in the Radio Disney Music Awards alongside Maren Morris and Old Dominion. Has this been a big help in breaking your music ?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Emma<\/span>: Definitely. We\u2019re so thankful for their support and it\u2019s so cool to hear our music on Radio Disney Country. We were very surprised but so honoured to be named one of their \u201cNext Big Things.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

EP<\/span>: What was it like playing C2C this year. I always go and it’s such a great atmosphere. Did you get to meet any lifelong heroes?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Dawson<\/span>: It was amazing! It was our first time in the UK and we had so much fun. Dan + Shay are one of our favourites and we got to sneak in and catch some of their sound check. It\u2019s crazy how much there\u2019s such a sense of community among country fans in the UK. We were shocked to see so many people know our songs.<\/span><\/p>\n

EP<\/span>: Im going to see Kip Moore this autumn during Country Music Week. Are you guys looking forward to playing intimate venues in front of UK Country fans?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Maddie<\/span>: We\u2019re definitely looking forward to playing more intimate venues. It\u2019ll be cool to see all your faces and hopefully meet a lot of people after the show.<\/span><\/p>\n

EP<\/span>: Next year looks super exciting for you and very diverse. Firstly, how did Sail Across the Sun Cruise happen?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>I love Train. Are you excited to support fellow Californians?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Dawson<\/span>: We actually met Train at the Radio Disney Music Awards this year. They were sitting in front of us and they\u2019re such nice guys. Connecting there is actually what made Sail Across the Sun Cruise happen. We\u2019re definitely excited to play on the same boat as them!<\/span><\/p>\n

EP<\/span>: And then you are playing Stagecoach with a band I love, Florida Georgia Line, and Country heavyweights Garth Brooks and Keith Urban. How excited are you to play the festival in April?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Emma<\/span>: We love all of them too! We\u2019re super excited. Stagecoach is an especially big deal in California, so it was cool seeing our name on the poster with some of our favourites and all of those legends.<\/span><\/p>\n

EP<\/span>: Does this busy spring mean you won’t be playing C2C 2018?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Maddie<\/span>: You\u2019ll have to wait and see!<\/span><\/p>\n

EP<\/span>: Tell us a little bit about your new music…<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Dawson<\/span>: Our new single, \u201cEverything Without You,\u201d is one of our favourites. It\u2019s definitely an emotional song. It\u2019s about that feeling when you\u2019re with someone special and you\u2019d rather be doing absolutely nothing with them than everything without them.<\/span><\/p>\n

EP<\/span>: I love your music and I’m very excited by your new releases. Do you think that you will be able to get Country Music the audience it deserves in the UK with your beautiful harmonies?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Maddie<\/span>: We hope so! We\u2019re so excited about the UK has embraced us so far. We\u2019re definitely looking forward to coming back often.<\/span><\/p>\n

EP<\/span>: It’s great to see so many Country stars coming to the UK more . I’m seeing Thomas Rhett and Old Dominion in November and as I said Kip Moore and Charlie Worsham before that. When will we get an outdoor festival of Country Music like Stagecoach do you think?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Emma<\/span>: That\u2019s a great idea! Let\u2019s do it!<\/span><\/p>\n

EP<\/span>: What do you think of the young UK Country acts like The Shires, Ward Thomas and Honey Ryder?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Dawson<\/span>: We love all of them. We met The Shires at C2C and they were amazing.<\/span><\/p>\n
