Jordan Klassen, a decorated Canadian singer\/songwriter who has spent more than a decade quietly crafting music has released his new studio album, \u201cBig Intruder\u201d,<\/em> released worldwide on September 22nd<\/sup> via Nevado Music.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u00a0An album about growing up and making adult decisions, ‘Big Intruder’ speaks to the dilemma of having an overwhelming array of choices available in life, and the doubt and caution that become excuses to avoid commitment.<\/p>\n

Consisting of eleven tracks including singles ‘Dominika’ – a song about “watching friends suffer romantically at the hand of noncommittal people” – ‘Yer Care’, and ‘HouseFly’, all songs on this album are intimate and personal, guided by a sense of honesty and vulnerability.<\/p>\n

Written, recorded and produced by Klassen himself, the sound of this album ventures away from the whimsical soundscapes of his past work and exude themes of growth and maturity, both in lyrics and sound. Stirring away from the cinematic sound he previously strived for, Klassen has tried to embrace the\u00a0idea of “band” on this record.<\/p>\n

Writing about his life experiences – particularly events that he had deemed as his failures – is one of the essential elements in Jordan\u2019s creative process.\u00a0 Beginning from his 2016 LP, Javelin followed by his recently released EP, ‘Curses’, and now ‘Big Intruder’ all explore themes of mental illness and hushed vulnerability.<\/p>\n
