It wasn’t that long ago we featured Mr Flannery and His Feelings, with his track, ‘Embers Of Dead Fires’<\/strong><\/a>, the second from his new album, ‘Try Your Hardest’. Now he’s back with ‘Pushing Up’, which comes with a retro-styled video directed by Gabriel Judet-Weinshel.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

‘Pushing Up’ is upbeat and fun – a very hooky track, a real sing-a-long song, with a hip hop beat and cool synths. Gabriel Judet-Weinshel’s video is a feast for the eyes as well, as we’re taken through Mr Flannery’s day to day activities, our eyes are drawn to the contemporary images shot in muted colours giving us the feel of the long hot summers of our childhood. It’s groovy and enticing, and we’re reminded of the music of They Might Be Giants and Weezer. There’s all sorts of imagery in the clip, with flowers blowing in and out of shot, a record player (with Mr Flannery’s singing face on it), a car wash, a super market, and finally Mr Flannery And His Feelings singing live – all to the very very catchy refrain of:<\/div>\n
