‘Jupiter Calling’ comes twenty years after their all conquering sophomore album, ‘Talk On Corners’, and two years after their album, ‘White Light’, which sold gold. It’s an ambitious, earthy, and outspoken album, and is guaranteed to earn them renewed respect as musicians and songwriters.<\/p>\n
Caroline Corr described the making of ‘Jupiter Calling’ at London’s RAK studios as “The most freeing experience we’ve ever had in the studio”. Burnett had them play live with minimal overdubs, accompanied by bassist Robbie Malone (best known for his work with David Gray) and longtime guitarist, Anthony Drennan, who’s also remembered for working with Chris Rea, Genesis, and Clannad. T-Bone further added to the stunning finish of the album by insisting the studio source 40 spools of rare two-inch tape, and a 1966 Ludwig drum kit, the brand famously favoured by Ringo Starr during his time in The Beatles.<\/p>\n
T-Bone Burnett says,<\/p>\n

T-Bone clearly loves The Corrs, and the feeling is mutual, as he’s taken the band out of their comfort zone.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cOne of the\u00a0biggest moments for me was when we first played T-Bone\u00a0\u2018Son of Solomon\u2019,\u201d Andrea says of the stunning album opener that sets\u00a0the tone\u00a0for this impressive collection. \u201cHe said \u2018Okay,\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0play that any more\u2019. When you\u2019re on the verge of knowing something you\u2019re\u00a0much\u00a0better than when you know it too well. And he was right. That\u2019s when the magic\u00a0happens.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
There is further magic on track 6, ‘SOS’, aka ‘Song Of Syria’, the most politically outspoken and evocative song they’ve ever recorded. It’s news like this that makes the anticipation of this album all the more exciting.<\/p>\n
