Mathematician and technologist, award-winning computer scientist and philanthropist Jim Allchin shows that maths and music use the same parts of the brain. Having won awards for his work with computers, he’s also a brilliant blues guitarist, and during his time at Microsoft he helped design many of the systems users continue to depend on.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Jim’s also beaten cancer twice, and retired ten years ago from his position as a senior executive at Microsoft to devote himself to his music. He’s now writing songs and performing, and has released three albums, with ‘You Might Be Wrong’ from his third album, ‘Decisions’.<\/p>\n

The followup to ‘Overclocked’ and ‘Q.E.D.’, which were both praised by blues enthusiasts for their approachability, sturdy construction, and wisdom, ‘Decisions’ is Jim Allchin’s most assured album yet, on which he’s been joined by the likes of Michael Rhodes and Reese Wynans, from Joe Bonamassa’s band, and drummer and producer Tom Hambridge, who’s worked with Ana Popovic, Susan Tedeschi, and George Thorogood, among many others. ‘You Might Be Wrong’ tells a gente message of compassion, from a survivor who has a story to tell.<\/p>\n

The video, directed by Nashville filmmaker Kelly Magill, cuts between children assembling a “club house” and Allchin and his band playing in the studio. The clubhouse isn’t one which excludes: instead, hand painted signs declare, “Keep Hate Out”, “No Judging”, and “Keep It Real” – all messages echoed in the lyrics of the song, which says no matter your hard-held beliefs and opinions, “You might just be wrong”.<\/p>\n
