‘Amaurotic’ is the name of Natalie Paige Bentley’s latest EP project, with the title taken from a scientific word meaning:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

“a sudden and unexplained occlusion of sight \u2013 an interruption of the usual transmissions of daily life.”<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n
In terms of how Natalie is using it, it describes her enchanting, mystical, almost otherworldly sound; her emotional world is constantly in flux, with her unconscious washing over her, and her songs finding where technical precision, and sensuality, meet. Natalie has also made music videos for three of the tracks on Amaurotic, each working as a distinct artistic entity, with its own personality – but at the same time, they are part of one continuous film, and together form eleven minutes of gripping, interrelated images, punctuated by brief spoken word interludes in between the songs. Our focus is on ‘Ride Home’, the first of the three videos. As a separate video, it’s a puzzle, a riddle. When viewed in sequence all three work together and tell a magical story.<\/div>\n

Natalie Paige Bentley is the focus of these videos, filmed in the woods of Chester County, Pennsylvania, and also feature Abe “Hurricane” Wagner (MMA Heavyweight Championship contender), as well as a beautiful white horse, Sombrero. There’s an obvious chemistry between the two, and it moves beyond mere science into something a bit more steamy. There are also supernatural elements, and suggestions of physical surrender, and mortality.<\/div>\n

Based in Philadelphia, singer-songwriter Natalie is also known as the prime mover behind the award winning Trillium Vein, and has been seen on MTV and Fuse.tv, among other international outlets. She is an experienced independent filmmaker, and has created films both under her name and that of Trillium Vein which have entranced many audiences.<\/div>\n
