Released through Cooking Vinyl, The Darkness’ new single, ‘Solid Gold’ is accompanied by a video of the band performing in a huge aircraft hangar, surrounded by a mass of Marshall speaker stacks and lit by glam-rock lighting.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The band comprising Justin Hawkins on vocals & guitar, Dan Hawkins on guitar, Frankie Poullain on bass and Rufus Tiger Taylor on drums, are not ones to do anything by halves. They proclaimed themselves to be rock legends, and take no prisoners with their song, aiming directly at the music industry, while addressing record companies, egos, and the insincerity that comes with it all.<\/div>\n

‘Solid Gold’ is the latest single from The Darkness’ forthcoming album, ‘Pinewood Smile’ which will be out October 6 through Cooking Vinyl. It follows on from the autobiographical lead single, ‘All The Pretty Girls’.<\/div>\n
