Canadian-Ukrainian space pop duo Ummagma<\/strong> have unveiled the new video for their collaboration with Cocteau Twins<\/strong> co-founder\u00a0Robin Guthrie<\/strong>.<\/h4>\n

Taken from their forthcoming\u00a0LCD<\/strong><\/em> EP,\u00a0L<\/strong><\/em>ama<\/strong><\/em>, features Guthrie’s trademark soaring guitar arpeggios and sound washes over\u00a0Shauna McLarnon<\/strong>‘s cool clear vocals.<\/h4>\n

Coming hot on the heels of their Winter Tale<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>maxi-single with\u00a0Rudy Tambala,\u00a0<\/strong>of A.R.<\/strong> Kane<\/strong>,\u00a0i<\/strong>t’s Ummagma’s second hook-up with a former 4AD<\/strong>\u00a0label luminary this year.<\/p>\n

Shot in Sao Paulo by award-winning Brazilian videographer\u00a0Dimitry Uziel<\/strong>, the video\u00a0<\/strong>is a dazzling visual interpretation of a song, which originally featured on the Ontario-based band’s debut album\u00a0Antigravity<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Formed after McLarnon met Ukrainian multi-instrumentalist\u00a0Alexander Kretov<\/strong> in Moscow, Ummagma also secured the talents of \u00a0SPC ECO<\/strong> mainman\u00a0Dean Garcia <\/strong><\/a>(ex-Curve<\/strong>)\u00a0<\/strong>on a couple of tracks on their new EP.<\/p>\n

A wistful ethereal tune, with haunting, almost whalesong vocals,\u00a0LCD<\/strong><\/em> is transformed by Garcia into a haunting percussive mantra, which sounds like a different song entirely,<\/p>\n

Both versions of LCD\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>are available on the new EP, which is out next month and serves as a taster for \u00a0Ummagma’s crowdfunded album scheduled for the Autumn.<\/p>\n

Garcia also takes the mixing reins on\u00a0Back To You<\/strong><\/em>, a sinister industrial sound sculpture vaguely reminiscent of\u00a0Massive<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>Attack<\/strong>‘s\u00a0Karmacoma<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n
