Australian sibling supergroup Sheppard have just revealed their new musical offering, in the form of track ‘Edge Of The Night’. The band are making a leap from their world-famous infectious pop sound to a new brand of 80\u2019s funk on their new single, out now via Decca Records.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Written during a session in September 2016, the band set out to create an authentic funk-inspired pop song, spending an entire day listening to old-school funk records and playing around with Juno synths and vintage pedals to create their ode to ending a hard work week with a glorious weekend of partying.<\/p>\n

\u201cEdge of the Night isn\u2019t your typical Sheppard track,\u201d said George Sheppard. \u201cIt’s a tongue in cheek funk pop throwback to house parties and old school vibes. It’s an opportunity for us to let our hair down and try something completely different.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Adding some undeniable hooks, a sprinkling of funk and an unmistakably catchy baritone growl, ‘Edge of the Night’ shows the band jumping effortlessly from the airwaves to the dancefloor. A clear standout from their recent stadium shows with Justin Bieber in Australia, the song makes its international debut as the band get ready to join Little Mix on their Summer Shout Out Tour. Sheppard are also to join Justin Bieber once again, this time closing the Barclaycard Stage at London\u2019s BST Festival on 2nd<\/sup> July. In amongst these live dates, the band are playing two headline shows of their own. They are heading to Glasgow\u2019s Garage on 27th<\/sup> June, before hitting The Lexington in London on 11th<\/sup> July.<\/p>\n
