Long celebrated for quality videos that\u00a0are as innovative and provocative as the music they\u00a0make, Depeche Mode is once again releasing a thrilling music video, with today\u2019s\u00a0release of\u00a0‘Going Backwards’. The stunning video, featuring a stripped-back\u00a0performance of the track\u00a0and filmed in 360 degree technology, and\u00a0was directed by\u00a0Timothy Saccenti, known\u00a0for his immersive photographic style, and features Depeche Mode in\u00a0a stylized,\u00a0full-scale video experience.<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

Depeche Mode is\u00a0offering a special audio bundle for fans, which will include the album\u00a0version\u00a0of ‘Going Backwards’, as well as the stripped-back live recording of the song\u00a0from the\u00a0Highline Sessions, as featured in the video. That special bundle will\u00a0be available\u00a0here.<\/a><\/p>\n

‘Going Backwards’\u00a0is one of many key tracks from ‘Spirit’, Depeche Mode\u2019s 14th\u00a0studio album.\u00a0Produced by James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco, the album debuted\u00a0at No. 1 in multiple\u00a0countries including\u00a0Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Belgium,\u00a0Switzerland, Austria, Portugal\u00a0and Denmark. Proving to be not only a fan but\u00a0critic favourite, ‘Spirit’ additionally debuted\u00a0in the\u00a0Top 10 in 15 countries, including coming in at No. 5 in the United\u00a0States and the United\u00a0Kingdom.<\/p>\n

The demand for Depeche Mode\u2019s unparalleled live\u00a0show has not once slowed down, with the\u00a0trio\u00a0becoming\u00a0the first band in history to add a fourth show at the legendary Hollywood Bowl,\u00a0on Oct. 18th\u00a0as part of their\u00a0Global Spirit Tour.\u00a0\u00a0The band is scheduled to perform on\u00a0Oct. 12, 14,\u00a016 and 18, making this the first time a band has performed four\u00a0consecutive shows at the\u00a0Hollywood Bowl and marking a major milestone for the\u00a0famed LA venue. Depeche Mode is\u00a0currently on the European stadium leg of the\u00a0Global\u00a0Spirit Tour, and will continue on to a 30-date North American tour in\u00a0August before returning to Europe in the fall and Latin America in\u00a0March 2018.\u00a0The\u00a0Global Spirit Tour\u00a0is\u00a0poised to be a record-breaking tour with well over 1.5\u00a0million tickets already\u00a0sold.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0album, available both digitally and physically, was released globally via\u00a0Columbia\u00a0Records on March 17.\u00a0Spirit\u00a0is available as a standard 12-track album. The\u00a0band has also\u00a0released a 2-CD Deluxe version of the album featuring a 28-page\u00a0booklet of exclusive artwork\u00a0and photos, along with\u00a0five\u00a0remixes created by Depeche Mode, Matrixxman and\u00a0Kurt Uenala,\u00a0collectively entitled the \u201cJungle Spirit\u00a0Mixes.\u201d The vinyl version of\u00a0Spirit\u00a0was released on two 180\u00a0gram LPs, featuring the standard album and a\u00a0special\u00a0Spirit\u00a0etching on the\u00a0fourth\u00a0side.\u00a0Fans\u00a0can purchase\u00a0Spirit\u00a0from online retailers\u00a0here.<\/a><\/p>\n
