Twista has been in the rap business for more than 25 years. From Chicago’s West Side, he’s known as one of the pioneers of the fast-paced, ‘Chopper’ rap style, and he had nine albums out, with an impressive following on social media.<\/strong><\/h4>\n
Recently Twista has announced that his tenth album, ‘Crook County’, will be available from July 7, and he told XXL Magazine that the album title comes from an old song:<\/div>\n

“but today I just feel it represents the area where I am! We are in the country of crooks and everybody knows it!”<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Twista loves his hometown Chicago though, and says he “will have\u00a0future titles representing the city in other aspects which are positive.”<\/div>\n

‘Crook County’ is Twista’s first release since ‘Dark Horse’, which came out in 2014, and it contains 13 tracks, with guest spots and production from Jeremih, Vic Spencer, Cap 1, Zaytoven, and Xcel, among others.<\/div>\n

The first track from the album, ‘Baddest’, features Cap 1, also from Chicago, and is produced by Zaytoven, who hails from Atlanta. The video starts off with a yellow convertible seen from overhead, driving down a winding road. Twista and Cap 1 rap, incongruously in the middle of the desert, as the “baddest” women, show up ready to “turn and shake it like a stripper”. It’s a bit NSFW both lyrically and in terms of video, but the beats and rhymes are catchy and it’s those which hook in the listener.<\/div>\n
