Room Full Of Strangers have found themselves compared to the likes of Mac Demarco and Modern Lovers’ Jonathan Richman, to The Dictators, and other proto and early punk bands. They’ve even been called a tougher DEVO – high praise indeed. Regardless of all this, Room Full Of Strangers are rock and roll all the way through to their bones – taking their approach to life as well as their music.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Room Full Of Strangers have found themselves gaining traction on college radio, which has buoyed them on tour across the US and Europe as well, and seen them perform at festivals including SXSW, CMJ, and CBGB Fest. The Strangers will even be featured later this year in the documentary, ‘Boy Howdy! The Story Of CREEM Magazine’, alongside such punk luminaries as Iggy Pop, Debbie Harry and Chris Stein from Blondie, Wayne Kramer (the MC5) and many others. To be produced by JJ Kramer, as well as award winning director Scott Crawford, who is best known for his documentary of DC Punk, ‘Salad Days<\/a>‘, which gained massive attention on the film circuit.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the release of their album, ‘Plastic For Packaging’ which follows 2015s acclaimed, ‘Bad Vacation’, Room Full Of Strangers have put out their new single, ‘Modern Media’. A song about the over-saturation of media in our lives not being necessarily a good thing, they encourage their listeners to think for themselves, and start “living free”:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not ok, with the media today, they try to divide us, just to earn their pay.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It’s a fast-paced, fun track, and totally on topic opening talking about “fake news”, and the band surrounded by newspaper. The video is witty and brightly coloured (apart from the newspaper…), and making it very obvious why they’ve been compared to DEVO.<\/p>\n

Room Full Of Strangers go on the road again this July, including a performance at New York City’s Mercury Lounge, on the 15th, where they’ll be co-headlining with underground music icon, Frank Secich, and several artists from Get Hip Recordings.
